Helen and Andrew, The Oratory, Birmingham and Grafton Manor, Bromsgrove: Wedding - July 2015

Helen and Andrew were married three weeks ago at what can only be described as the magnificent Oratory in Birmingham, before moving on to Grafton Manor in Bromsgrove for their reception. I have been very fortunate to have photographed weddings in Cathedrals, traditional Greek Churches and many other wonderful venues but I don't think anywhere really compares to the grandeur of The Oratory…. it really is a stunning building. It also has the appeal (at least to me anyway) that there are connections to Tolkein both at the Oratory and other venues nearby… as a Lord of the Rings / Hobbit geek that is a very cool thing indeed! Anyway, Helen and Andrew asked me to cover just the Ceremony and the Reception elements of their day which is something I ordinarily don't do so it did make for an interesting few hours for me. I was a little worried that I may not have been able to do the wonderful surroundings justice, and I'm not entirely sure I have (it really is a stunning building) but I am very happy with the images and hopefully Helen and Andrew will be as well!
