Wedding Photography in Pershore, Worcestershire. A truly international day.

One of the may things I love about the ‘work’ that I do is that I get to meet people from all over the world. I’ve shot weddings in Greece, Italy and Malta, not to mention the cosmopolitan metropolis that is Kidderminster. Most often though, I’m not the one that has to do most of the travelling. I’ve met wedding guests from all four corners of the globe (how does a globe have corners?) and Rebecca and Duncans wedding was a prime example.

To start with, it’s worth noting how R&D and I first spoke. Imagine trying to arrange a web chat with a Groom in Australia, a Bride in Svalbard and a photographer in Kidderminster. It wasn’t easy. Fortunately for me, I sat right in the middle of the time zones, so I didn’t have to get up in the middle of the night to take the call…

Dealing with the rain on a wedding day…

Fortunately, the time differences we were all battling against didnt cause a problem and after a lovely chat Rebecca and Duncan asked me to photograph their day.

Fast forward a few months and we met up at Duncans family home/farm in Wick ahead of the big day to talk through plans and how they wanted their day to run. The one thing we were all very aware of was the impact that the weather could have on their day as most of it would be outdoors. As it happened, it absolutely belted it down during the early evening (watching people try to push puddled water from the roof of a marquee to stop it collapsing was ‘interesting’) but it didnt dampen sprirts at all. It also meant the all of the umbrellas R&D provided got a run out.

So how was my day? In one word, perfect. In more than one word, it was challenging, hectic, fun filled, tiring and utterly beautiful. Not only were Rebecca and Duncan absolutely delightful people to work for but their family and friends (even the thousands of crazy Aussies that flew in) were a joy to spend time with. It was also the most challenging dancefloor I’ve ever had to contend with. There wasn’t room enough to swing a very small mouse, let alone a cat. I was also great to work with Stuart from Skies Are Blue again.
