Severn Valley Railway Wedding. Suzy and Jeremys awesome Worcestershire Wedding day.
When my wife and I first moved into our house we had to deal with a number of unexpected auditory oddities during our first few days. You see, we moved from a flat just off of Broad Street in Birmingham to a house that sits more or less on the border of the Wyre Forest…. so this meant silence…. lots of silence… which was weird and led to a few sleepless nights to start with!
And then of course there are the steam trains. The Severn Valley Railway runs about half a mile away from our home and listening to the trains as they pass by is wonderful. Up until this summer I hadn’t shot a wedding on the line (I had shot Sian and Steves wedding at the Station but not on one of the trains)… in fact the last time I went on the railway was as a very young kid…. but this changed when Suzy and Jeremy as me to join them on their wedding day in Kidderminster, Worcestershire.
The day itself was somewhat unconventional. Two minutes for a couple of portraits, 2 or 3 quick formals and that was it in terms of ‘organised photography’….. brilliant! The wedding ceremony took place in Kidderminster Town Hall and we then took the shot stroll (up the hill) to the train station for the rest of the day. A ride to Bridgnorth and back followed by a party at the Station rounded out the day perfectly.
It was a wonderful day to be a part of… challenging yes (trying to accurately focus whilst standing up on a moving train is not easy) but a lot of fun nonetheless. Here are a few images from S&J’s wonderfully unconventional Worcestershire wedding day!
