Destination Wedding Photographer Cornwall, Jess and Jenn's sun, sea and sand filled Wedding day.
When people talk about Destination Weddings, more often than not images of venues in France, the sun kissed Caribbean or gorgeous Mediterranean islands come to mind. Whilst these are all wonderful places (I have a recent trip to Italy to share soon), a destination wedding doesn't have to mean leaving your own country.
This was very much the case for Jess and Jenn who married in the truly gorgeous surroundings of Lusty Glaze Beach in Newquay, Cornwall in July. Whilst they live in the Midlands (about as landlocked as you can get in the UK), the ocean has a strong draw for them both so there was only one choice for them when planning their wedding... travel a bit to spend their day on the beach...
And am I glad they did!
What a beautiful wedding day it was. Scorchio weather, great people and a wonderful Cornish wedding venue. With the notable exception of sand in my shoes and the steps you have to climb to reach/leave the venue I had the most wonderful of days.
One of the many things I loved about this wedding was it's relaxed nature. Jess and Jenn simply wanted to celebrate with their family and friends with very little formality.... which suited me and my way of working perfectly.
However... panic did set in for me immediately after their wedding breakfast. At this point I hadn't taken any shots of Jess and Jenn together. I wanted to wait until later in the day to take advantage of the lovely light as I typically like to do when the weather is good.
But, at the end of the meal Jess, along with most of the Bridal party decided enough was enough. It was too hot and the ocean looked just too inviting. So, off came the dresses/suits and on came the swimsuits/shorts and in the sea they went. I was freaking out!
I needn't of worried though. I got some great shots of the fun (as well as soaking wet trousers) and we still managed to get some shots of Jess and Jenn together later. Perfect.
This really was a truly lovely destination wedding to be a part of. I absolutely loved working for Jess and Jenn and I hope my images have captured the essence of what was one of the most enjoyable wedding days I have been to.
Congratulations J&J!
