Bridal Barn Wedding Photographs. Helena and Daryls perfect day

HELENA AND daryl

The Bridal Barn, SHROPSHIRE.

A little over a month ago now I had the real pleasure of spending a day with Helena and Daryl at The Bridal Barn, near Bridgnorth, Shropshire. It had been a while since I had been there (for Abi and Charlies day) and it was so good to be back again (the weather was a little warmer to!). Not only is it more or less on my doorstep, but it is a venue that I feel very comfortable working at. Maybe it is the woodland surroundings, or the gorgeous light in the barn or just maybe its the lovely people that run the venue…. whatever it is, it’s a special place for sure.

Then, when you combine such a lovely place to work with people like Helena and Daryl and their family and friends. you know you are onto a winner. We’ve bonded over the last few months over our mutual love of photography (especially film photography… more to come in that regard soon), music (anyone that chooses a Neil Young song for a first dance is alright by me) and the writing of Jack Kerouac (something that I have been trying to get my head around for a while… seriously, its not easy).

Their day, at least from my point of view was perfect. Relaxed, honest and warm… I had such a lovely time. It didn’t hurt that the lovely people from Grazing Brew Box gave me so much food to eat that at one point I needed a bit of a sit down. It was so good and they are all so friendly. Can’t recommended them highly enough.

I also want to give a shout out to hoof and scoop on Ice cream, Heather Victoria on Hair and Make Up and to SDC Discos who had a machine that somehow puts dry ice INSIDE bubbles. How does that work .. what sort of magic is in play???

But of course the biggest thanks of all must go to Helena and Daryl for asking me to photograph their day in the first place, for being so remarkably warm and friendly throughout the whole planning process, for asking me to shoot some film but not putting any pressure on me, for letting me do pretty much whatever I wanted to do and for generally being lovely, interesting and welcoming people.

Here are a few of their wedding photographs.
