Wedding Photography in Knowle, Solihull. Sarah and Matt's hometown wedding day.
Back in august, I took a short drive over to Knowle in Solihull to photograph Sarah and Matts wedding.
It's a little town I have gotten to know quite well over the last few years, and have shot weddings at Knowle Church before (Naomi and Chris.... friends of Sarahs, being the last).
The wedding day was 'eventful' to say the least. We started at Hogarths Hotel before leaving for Knowle town centre for the ceremony... ordinarily a very easy journey of about 5 minutes. However, of course I had to make things difficult for myself. I left the hotel well before Sarah but the combination of a road closure (thanks Solihull Council) and getting caught at a level crossing meant I just about made it to the Church at the same time as Sarah.
The wedding itself was a great deal of fun. Sarah and Matt run The Vaults Public House in Knowle, so unsurprisngly the crowd at the wedding were 'lively' (a good lively I should add). I need to say a big thanks to Sarah and Matt for making my day so much fun, and also a big thank you to Matt for being so friendly. We hadn't met prior to the wedding but fortunately I think we got on well! I also really ought to give a quick shout out to Jennie, Sarah's Maid of Honour for making my day so 'interesting' and also to lovely Anna for being so welcoming (we had previously met at Naomi and Chris' wedding... and as a Photographer herself she was very understanding regarding the work I do). Thank you ladies!
It was also really good to meet Richard James for the first time, Sarah and Matt's videographer. He was very easy to get along with and work alongside. A fine chap indeed!
I love these images... I'm especially pleased with the confetti shots and the portraits of Sarah and Matt. We managed to find a little spot away from all the guests that, coupled with a bit of lovely evening light, helped to create some lovely images. Here are a few shots from their special day.
