The Dorchester Hotel, London. Lori and Duncans wonderful wedding day.
This is an ‘old’ one…
So where do I start with this amazing day?… so much to talk about and hardly enough space here to fit it all in. I suppose starting at the beginning would be appropriate. Welcome to Lori and Duncan’s wedding at The Dorchester Hotel in Mayfair, London.
My day started early… 7am to be precise… for the drive down to London to meet with Lori at her AirBnB in Victoria. The drive was uneventful (as much as driving into central London can be) and I met with Lori and her bridesmaids to take a few photographs as they got ready. This would be the perfect moment to thank Helen, Mel, Georgina, Laura and Charlotte for the warm welcome I received… it was hugely appreciated and you are all awesome!
And then it was time to make our way over to The Dorchester for the wedding. An easy task you say?…. well yes, ordinarily it would be.
However…
A few of the people that disagreed with the result of the recent* Brexit vote decided that this was the day they were going to hold a march to Parliament square to voice their frustrations. No problem with that of course, but the march had to begin in Park Lane didn’t it…. right outside the Dorchesters front door. To say we had a bit of trouble getting to the hotel would be something of an understatement!
I had to abandon my Uber when only half way there and walk the rest of the way…. as did Lori, her Dad and her Bridesmaids. It was a little stressful and definitely a first for me.
Once we were all safely inside The Dorchester everything went perfectly… with a beautiful ceremony in the Penthouse Suite, drinks on the balcony, a stroll over to Mayfair Library to take a few photographs and then the festivities of the rest of the day. I got home at 1am… shattered but very happy (just don’t ask me about the issues I had getting out of the Car Park after the wedding….!).
I must say a big thank you to Rosie (Events Manager at The Dorchester) for looking after me so wonderfully (both on the day and in the lead up to the wedding). A big shout out must go to Chelsey of Chelsey Leigh Beauty and to Liquid Strings as well… it was great working with you all.
But finally, a huge thank you to Lori and Duncan for being two of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of working for. I loved spending the day with you.
Here are a few images from this insane day!
*Not so recent now! I had held on to posting this until such time as things were sorted but as well all know that has taken some time. So, with the world being in a even more crazy state now, it might be as good time as any to post this because who knows where we will be in a couple of months time.
