Back in September (can you remember that far back…? It seems ages ago now to me) I jumped in my mini (otherwise branded as my go-kart by my wife on account of how I drive apparently) and made my way (sedately) down to Cripps Barn in Gloucestershire to photograph Zoe and Alex’s big day.
Now, I had been looking forward to this day for a long time. Not only is Cripps Barn gorgeous but Zoe and Alex are very close to friends of a wonderful couple whose wedding I photographed a couple of years ago, Hannah and Oli. So I knew just how much fun this day would be and it did not disappoint.
My day actually started at a nearby AirBnB for Zoe’s bridal prep before a quick drive back to the barn for the main event. I really enjoy the bridal prep side of things and many of my own favourite images come from this part of the day… and this was no exception. The shots of Zoe in that gorgeous window light made me very happy.
Anyway, the rest of the day was utterly wonderful. Beautiful weather + a beautiful venue + awesome people makes for a perfect working day. Not so sure about the Doves mind you… having a whole bunch of them flying directly towards you is a little ‘disconcerting’!
A big thank you must go out to Cara at Cripps Barn for looking after me so well. It was also really great to meet Lisa Murphy who was on MUA duties for the day. Thank you to Zoe’s bridesmaids who were all really lovely and to the best men too. Hannah and Oli… thank you for passing on my details and it was so great to see you both again. And finally, thank you to Zoe and Alex for what was a really great day!
